After the suffering of his soul,
he will see the light of life and be satisfied;
by his knowledge my righteous servant will justify many,
and he will bear their iniquities.
Wow – after ten verses of pure dismall pain, torture, condemnation, death – we finally have something POSITIVE! There is light at the end of the tunnel! He’s won! He will see the light of life, and be satisfied….
That is exactly what the Gospel is – GOOD NEWS! That is what we are called to share – GOOD NEWS! He who knew no sin, became sin, so that we might become HIS righteousness – GOOD NEWS!!! He suffered torture, pain, death, damnation, so that we might enjoy eternal life – GOOD NEWS!!!
“Now this is eternal life: that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.” (John 17:3)
But why do I deserve this kind of gift?
I don’t. Neither do you. Yet he’s given it freely to whoever believes. By his knowledge – or by knowledge of him – we are saved. Praise the Lord!
